Claims
A formal request to an insurance company asking for a payment based on the terms of the insurance policy. Insurance claims are reviewed by the company for their validity and then paid out to the insured or requesting party (on behalf of the insured) once approved.

You will find your claims process is a lot easier if you have the following information ready before you start.

What to do before you lodge a claim:

• Notify Shiv Insurance Brokers within 72 hours
• Include information such as name of policy holder, Date of loss/accident, registration number and your
risk note number.
• Should your claim relate to a criminal incident, a police report should be made.
• The insured should then complete a claims form and all supporting documents from the checklist below.

• A completed and signed claims form
• Preliminary Police Report PF. 90
• Final Police report PF. 115
• Vehicle inspection report PF.93
• Documents/information relating to the third party (If any)
• Sketch map of the scene of accident
• Estimate cost of repairs
• Photocopy of your registration card
• Photocopy of the Cover note
• Photocopy of your receipt
• Photocopy of your drives license
• Photograph of the damaged vehicle

Neel Karia
Neel’s managerial and technical experience combine to create a deep understanding of operations within a business that has resulted in an in-depth knowledge of what is required to run a profitable and successful business.

Graduated from Bethune-Cookman University USA, and having had experience in various Managerial roles within the United States, Neel is now, Director of Toolco Ltd, and Co-founder of N.K Exports and Shiv Insurance Brokers. Neel’s primary responsibilities are with corporate clients. His dedication and knowledge see him proving unique solutions in all facets of the organization. His core focus is to help clients insure their future, and help them make informed sound decisions with their Insurance needs. His International exposure has brought in an intercontinental flair; thus Shiv Insurance Brokers is operating on world class spectrum.

Vijay Jobanputra
A Certified Public Accountant with a Masters in Business Administration, Vijay has over 20 years experience within the service and manufacturing industry. He started his career with M.A Hassam & Co as an Audit Trainee and made his way up to an Audit Manager. Thereafter he joined Micronix System Ltd as a Sales Director then moving up to a Finance Director and eventually the Managing Director. Armed with this experience he started Zana Bora Ltd as a Managing Director.

General Insurance

Life is full of risks, but some unexpected events can set one back. General insurance includes policies that help protect you against losses and damages when unanticipated events occur.

Motor Also called automotive insurance, a contract by which the insurer assumes the risk of any loss the owner or operator of a car may incur through theft, damage or accident.

Fire & Allied Perils ( Building and Contents) Fire insurance provides cover for damage to the insured’s property and contents including furniture, fixtures and fittings. Loss or Damage may caused by: fire, lightning, explosion or earthquake, flood, storm, malicious damage, riot and civil commotion (extension clause), number of other qualifying conditions as per policy.

Fidelity Gurantee Covers against loss of money, negotiable instruments or goods belonging to the business resulting from an act of fraud committed by an employee if they have committed fraud or have been dishonest to the employer.

Burglary This policy insures against loss or damage resulting from or following the unlawful breaking and entering of designated premises or places of safekeeping.

Business Interruption This cover provides compensation for the loss of income following damage or disaster that causes closing of the business facility or due to which the business loses the profits it would have earned during the period of restoration e.g. rebuilding process, machinery repairing, etc.

Domestic Property This policy is a combined cover that provides financial protection against misfortunes that your house could be subjected to.

Goods In Transit This insurance cover provides cover for the risks and damages that can affect cargo whilst in transit from one place to another by Road, Rail, Marine or Aviation. It can be initiated from port of loading to port of offload or from warehouse to warehouse. The limits on this cover can be catered for depending on the transporters within the country.

Professional Indemnity This provides cover against liability for damages and claimant's costs and expenses in respect of claims for breach of professional duty.

Money This insurance policy will provide indemnity following the theft or loss of money. Money shall mean and include: Cash, Bank Drafts, Currency, Notes, and Cheques, Postal Orders, Money Orders and Current Postage Stamps. This policy covers money stored in the business during and after working hour’s cash locked in your home /premises as well as in transit to and from banks, debtors and creditors.

Personal Accident Personal Accident Insurance provides a benefit to you and your insured family members if in case of death or are injured as the result of an accident in the course of business or pleasure.

Marine Insurance Marine insurance covers the loss or damage of the ship / hull, cargo and any other cargo through which goods are transported from one place to the other, or held between the points of origin and final destination.

Aviation This insurance provides cover for accidental loss or damage of the Aircraft unit, usually termed as "hull," and also covers cargo through which goods are transported by Air from one place to the other, or held between the points of origin and final destination. This includes claims and losses arising from ownership, maintenance or the use of an aircraft.

Contractors All Risk Contractor’s All Risks Insurance covers civil construction projects above or below the ground. This includes residential and office buildings, hospitals, schools, theatres, roads, railways, bridges, tunnels, airports, dams, weirs, irrigation and drainage facilities, canals and ports. It is specifically designed to give financial protection to Civil Engineers who work on site.

Machinery Breakdown Provides cover against unforeseen and sudden physical loss or damage to machinery subject to expected risks. Machines are an integral part of all manufacturing and industrial units engaged in production of industrial/household goods.

Plant All Risks provides cover to the insured against “All Risks” through direct physical loss or damage from any accidental cause to the insured's plant and equipment.

Electronic Equipment The Electronic Equipment Insurance Policy mainly provides protection against unforeseen events leading to breakdowns and physical damages to electronic equipment. Examples include but are not limited to Desktops/Laptops, Mobiles, CCTV Cameras.

Workmen’s Compensation Provides cover against damages which an employer may be called upon to pay upon bodily illness or injury to an employee resulting in the course of employment.

Public Liability This type of insurance would cover a business if a customer or member of the public was to suffer a loss or injury as a result of its business activities.

Deterioration of Stock Provides deterioration of Stock insurance policy provides protection against the cost of unforeseen damage for goods owned and for goods in the care of our customers as a result of the rise or fall in temperature.
